HAT-P-9b

HAT-P-9b is an extrasolar planet about 1,560 light-years away in the constellation Auriga. This planet was found by transit method on June 26, 2008. It has a mass of 78% jupiter and a radius of 140% jupiter.

As for all transiting planets except HD 17156 b, this planet is called hot Jupiter, meaning that this planet moves in orbit around the parent star extremely closely, taking only 3.92 days to orbit with an average distance of 7.9 gigameters.
